Biosignal Based Emotion Analysis of Human-Agent Interactions
نویسندگان
چکیده
A two-phase procedure, based on biosignal recordings, is applied in an attempt to classify the emotion valence content in human-agent interactions. In the first phase, participants are exposed to a sample of pictures with known valence values (taken from IAPS) and classifiers are trained on the physiological data recorded. During the second phase, biosignals are recorded for each participant while interacting with an embodied conversational agent (ECA) and the classifiers trained in the first phase are applied. The results from the procedure are promising and are discussed in the paper together with the problems encountered and the suggestions for possible future improvement.

متن کاملReal-time Analysis of Heart Rate Variability for a Mobile Human Emotion Recognition System
In this paper, we are focused on a mobile human emotion recognition system which is based on biosignal. Cardio signal is a proper bio-signal for emotion recognition and we use photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors to gather cardio signals. We mainly consider real-time heart rate variability (HRV) analysis which is essential to mobile emotion recognition. A mobile sensor module embedding a digital ...
متن کاملA User Independent, Biosignal Based, Emotion Recognition Method
A physiological signal based emotion recognition method, for the assessment of three emotional classes: happiness, disgust and fear, is presented. Our approach consists of four steps: (i) biosignal acquisition, (ii) biosignal preprocessing and feature extraction, (iii) feature selection and (iv) classification. The input signals are facial electromyograms, the electrocardiogram, the respiration...

This paper presents an analysis of issues pertaining to the relation between computational emergence and emotion in cognitive agent systems. We consider how a developing computational theory of cognition can be used to monitor and manage interactions with and within complex systems. Goal-based agent systems sometimes need to postpone or abandon important goals in favor of more immediate concern...
متن کاملBiosignals Analysis and its Application in a Performance Setting - Towards the Development of an Emotional-Imaging Generator
The study of automatic emotional awareness of human subjects by computerized systems is a promising avenue of research in human-computer interaction with profound implications in media arts and theatrical performance. A novel emotion elicitation paradigm focused on self-generated stimuli is applied here for a heightened degree of confidence in collected physiological data. This is coupled with ...
